LANEWAY 2020 IS ALMOST HERE!
Are you as excited as we are for St Jerome's Laneway Festival 2020? Well you should be!
Next year's Laneway Festival will be held in Auckland at the lush Albert Park in Auckland on January 27th - coincidentally it's a public holiday, so it should be easy to get a day (or two) off work!
A bit about St Jerome's Laneway Festival:
St. Jerome’s began in 2004 as not much more than a hole in the wall. An ex-Swedish meatballs shop turned glorified speakeasy, the tiny bar was hidden halfway down the rat and garbage infested Caledonian Lane in Melbourne’s CBD. Opened by Jerome Borazio as an excuse to have somewhere to drink with his mates, it sold cheap booze, had no dress code, and instantly became a magnet for the likeminded.
Across a decade of expansion that has seen the St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival become an international signifier of essential music, the event continues to showcase its original set of values: championing community, fostering collaboration, encouraging self-expression, and finding ongoing excuses to have fun. Believe me ladies and gentlemen, this is an opportunity of fun not to miss!
I know we're all about the music, but can we talk food for just a sec?
Okay, this might sound weird talking about food for a music festival, but trust me, you want to know what to expect! Most festivals have the "normal" festival food - basically all of your favourites when you're having a good time. St Jerome's Laneway Festival takes all of those favourites to the next level! Next year's vendors include:
Duck Island, Wise Boys Burgers, Bun Hun, Nice Blocks, Little Island Creamery, Lord Of The Fries, Langos, Peach's Hot Chicken, Che Lucio BBQ, The Rolling Pin, Serial Griller, Fatimas, Taco Loco, Double Dutch Fries, Ramen Takara, Ha! Poke, Miso Ramen, Mizzoni Pizza, The Deli Delights Canteen, Atomic Coffee, Redeem Soda, Zeffer, Garage Project, Urbanuat, Parrotdog.
How Good does that Look!? This is making me want to go just for the food!
Why should you go to Laneway 2020?
Why you shouldn't go to Laneway 2020 is probably a much shorter list! What more could you ask for? It falls on a public holiday in the middle of New Zealand's fantastic summer season, the food looks next to none, and the Line Up... Oh yeah the lineup!
This year you can expect to see acts from:
The 1975, Rufus Du Sol, Charli XCX, Ruel, Earl Sweatshirt, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, BENEE (yes, BENEE!), J.I.D., Mahalia, BBNO$, The Chats, Hockey Dad, Julia Jacklin, Col3trane, Fontaines D.C., Stella Donelly, Omar Apollo, Kaiit, Soaked Oats, Eleven7four, Mermaidens, Kedr Livanskiy, CC:Disco!, Tapes (LIVE), Filth AK and Friendly Potential DJs!
What's better than that lineup? Oh yeah, the debut stage coming to Laneway in 2020! That's right, next year Laneway will have, not one, but TWO stages! The main stage will be on Princess Street, and the debut stage - named Alfredo's Dance Tunnel - will be located down the laneway-like Alfred Street!
Honestly, I've been writing about Laneway and I am probably about to go and buy myself a couple of passes....
