The 1975's Matty Healy Thinks One Direction Ripped Off His Band

Lead singer of The 1975 Matty Healy thinks that One Direction ripped of his band's hit 'Girls'.

When the One D boys were recording their album Four, the boys asked Matty come along and listen to their song that was inspired by The 1975.

But it apparently sounded so much like 'Girls' that Matty had to ask them to change it.

"They just wanted to play me this song that they said was really, really inspired by us," - Matty Healy

The song in question is 'Change Your Ticket'. Matty said that the song itself didn't sound much like 'Girls' but the guitar and the whole vibe of it was a complete lift, and said for them to take the guitars and they'd be sweet.

Which they did, but the original version made it onto the deluxe edition of Four, which Matty was not happy about, and went on to say that it sounded like a bad 1975 song.

Awkward!!!

In Matty's defence, the songs to sound pretty similar. Check them out for yourself below!
