Despite a recent legal snafu regarding Blac Chynatrademarking the Kardashian name for herself, the TV personality and fiancé Rob Kardashian are still planning to head down the aisle.
Chyna’s business attorney told Us Weekly, “They’re getting married! [And] there’s a date.” He added that he was “not at liberty” to disclose the exact wedding date, but another insider told Us, “They are planning on getting married next summer but haven’t planned anything else. They want to work it out with E! for another season of the show first.”
Chyna filed legal papers last May to register the name Angela Renée Kardashian, but the legal team representing Rob’s sisters, Kim, Khloé, and Kourtney Kardashian, are trying to block that move because the K-Dash brand would “suffer irreparable injury to their reputation and goodwill if the opposed mark is allowed to register,” says the legal docs.
Sources close to Chyna told TMZ that the Keeping Up With the Kardashian stars reached out to their future sister-in-law to let her know it’s nothing personal. It is standard procedure to oppose anyone trying to register Kardashian as a trademark. The site said they were “not singling her out.”
An insider added to Us, “Chyna filing and using their last name takes some time and discussion. They are hoping to resolve it amicably, the girls, because they do love Chyna. The girls are just protecting their interests because that is their brand. It’s a complicated business issue.”
Let’s hope they do work it out. Meanwhile, Rob and Chyna are enjoying being parents to their new daughter, Dream Kardashian.
