The Identity Of 'Gossip Girl' Was Originally Supposed To Be THIS Character
With the 10 year anniversary of Gossip Girl's OG air date, loads of fun facts have been emerging and we're so here for all the gossip!
And if you're anything like us and still haven't quite come to terms with Dan Humphrey being behind the whole thing...
Well we have news for you, lonely boy wasn't the original Gossip Girl candidate!
Executive producer Joshua Safran revealed that they originally wanted Serena's lil bro Eric (Connor Paolo) to be the mastermind.
"I always thought it was Eric until the end of season two, and I even guided it that way," he told Vulture.
"But when the New York Post revealed it was Eric—and I still don't know how that happened, I think they were just guessing—we realised we couldn't go down that road anymore, so we abandoned him."
BUT WAIT. There's more!
The producers also srsly considered the baben' Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) because of all the characters, he's the one that never really sent in any tip offs to GG.
"But in the end, it had to be Dan," Vulture's piece concluded, "because Dan's a writer, observer, and could write in different styles."
And that, ladies and gents, is how Dan Humphrey came to be Gossip Girl. xoxo
