As we get into the grips of 2018 we have learnt that this is not the year for the King Of The North.
The final six episodes of Game of Thrones will premiere in 2019, HBO has confirmed. In an official release, HBO also confirmed that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will direct episodes for the new season, along with GoT vets David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik. Unfortunately for George R. R. Martin fans, this means that the author will not return to direct any new episodes. In fact, HBO says he will only be back to co-executive produce the eighth and final season.
According to reports, production for season eight began in October and will last until August 2018. So all we can do for now is wait and watch out for spoilers.
