There's quite a few events happening in the Eastern Bay over the next couple of weeks, If you're looking for something to do during the school holidays - you may just be spoilt for choice!
EPIC Whakatane Town Centre Winter Carnival
(UPDATE THIS EVENT HAS NOW BEEN POSTPONED TO A DATE YET TO BE CONFIRMED)
The first ever EPIC Whakatane Town Centre Winter Carnival! Its a fun family night out to support our local business. There will be late night shopping on Friday night from 4pm - 7pm, with amusement rides, vintage fire engine rides, snow, and light displays, neon and glow sticks and even a hot rod display! The Discover Our Local Amazing Race
Open to teams of four people, the Amazing Race is to be held on Thursday the 9th of July. The race starts at the Whakatane Library with registrations from 11.30am and the Race going from 12pm till 2pm. The race is free to be a part of with cool prizes to be won! Children under eight require a guardian to be part of their team - and most importantly, don't forget a camera!
The Whakatane Kiwi Trust Night Walks
Kids Night Walk of discovery are being held on Wednesday 15th and Friday 17th of July, from 5.30pm - 7 pm.
These are held at the Mokoroa Scenic Reserve for 5 to 12 year old (bring an adult with you).
Cost is a gold coin/koha. Bookings are essential via Eventfinda.
The Whakatane Kiwi Trust Scavenger Hunt
On Thursday 16th of July from 9am - 11am there is a kiwi scavenger hunt at the Ohope Scenic Reserve. This is an interactive activity for 5 to 8 year olds (with an adult). Cost is a gold coin/koha. Bookings are essential via Eventfinda
Learning About Horses with Eastern Bay Riding for the Disabled
The team at Eastern Bay riding for the disabled have some horsey fun planned for Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th of July! Children who want to take part can learn to catch, groom, play games and ride.
