Taylor Swift surprise album: Evermore, releasing tonight!
Happy Holidays - Taylor Swift has a gift for us all. A surprise announcement of her second album of the year.
“It’s called evermore. To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs.
“I’ve never done this before. In the past I’ve always treated albums as one-off eras and moved onto planning the next one after an album was released.
“There was something different with folklore. In making it, I felt less like I was departing and more like I was returning.”
Swift describes the album as a 'sister' to her album Folklore from earlier in the year
Taylor revealed the tracklist for the 15-song new album and noted that some of the guests are Haim, The National and Bon Iver.
The 30-year-old singer - who will celebrate her birthday on Sunday - will drop her ninth studio album 'Evermore' at midnight on Thursday to give back to her fans who have been "thoughtful" on her past birthdays.
She wrote on Instagram: "Ever since I was 13, I've been excited about turning 31 because it's my lucky number backwards, which is why I wanted to surprise you with this now."
A video for a new song, Willow, will arrive along with the album, to be released at midnight ET Thursday (Friday night at 6 pm, NZT).
Just in time to play on repeat all weekend long.
