Twilight Saga Continues - Stephenie Meyer has Two More Books to Come
With the release of Midnight Sun, Twilight fans have been buzzing about the newest addition to the saga. But that's not it, with Stephenie Meyer teasing 'Twi-hards' with news that there's more to come.
During a virtual event hosted by Books-A-Million for Midnight Sun, Stephenie confirmed that she thinks "there are two more books I think in the [Twilight] world that I want to write, I have got them outlined and a chapter written I think of the first one, so I know it's there". That's some pretty exciting stuff for Twilight Fans - wonder if there's going to be another movie...?
Before you get your hopes up, if you were hoping for a sequel to Midnight Sun and more of Edward's perspective, we've got some bad news... Stephenie said during an interview with the New York Times that she doesn't plan to write another novel from his perspective. She said "this is it for Edward. Writing from his point of view makes me extra anxious, and the experience of writing this book was not a super pleasant one." While it's a shame, we're still excited to give it a read and finally find out what he was thinking all along!
There's been pretty mixed reviews about Midnight Sun - with some lovers and of course, some haters. Critics have hit the hardest, saying "the companion novel to Twilight feels as endless as Edward Cullen's eternal existence", but fans have been excited to get their hands on the new book (myself included!). It's been given a 4.05 rating out of 5 from over 13,000 reader's reviews. When Twilight was released in 2005 (feel old yet?) it sold over 120 million copies worldwide, so we have high expectations for the next two set to come!
We will have to wait a while for the new novels, as Stephenie has said she's in no rush to get these books written, and she has plans on writing something new - so pretty exciting news to see what else is yet to come for our favourite Vampires...
